Parkway North Students Celebrate the Release of “Breaking Dawn Part I”

The release of Part 1 of the Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn came out Friday, Nov. 18. While every fan has their own traditions for preparing for the big release, fans here at Parkway North prepared for the much anticipated film by getting together to watch the first three films: Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.
“[I decided to host the Twilight movie party] to get the excitement up in school for it, since there are some Twi-hards that go to North,” said geometry teacher and big Twi-hards Jennifer Mueller.
In 2005, when Twilight first came out it soon reached #5 on The New York Times Bestseller List. The anticipation for the Twilight series continued to heighten, but some fans would now argue that today excitement for the series has died down.
“I’m actually not that excited for it. I think that the hype has died down. I used to be really excited for the Twilight series when it first came out, but after that, the story line got kind of boring,” said senior Satya Kothapalli.
Others, however, are still excited fans for the Saga and show their enthusiasm by attending the Thursday midnight premiere of Part 1.
“I still like it and I still want to go to the midnight premiere [and will be attending the midnight premiere]. I like that it’s being split into 2 parts because then they can emphasize on the details, the more important details of the whole book. Obviously if they make it into one movie it would be really long and they could not get in all the details and stuff, but I like that it is in two parts so they can get all the great aspects of it,” said senior Prutha Patel.
Some events in the movie are highly awaited for by fans.
“I’m excited to see the wedding,” said Patel.
“I’m want to see the wedding and I want to see how they do the birth scene,” said Mueller.
While other fans look forward to some of the more gruesome scenes.
“[I am most excited to see] some vampires being killed,” said senior Mike Brooks.
As lots of fans have verified Breaking Dawn Part 1 has definitely been anticipated!
