Vans Warped Tour Comes to St. Louis

vans logo               Warped Tour has become something of a summer tradition for music lovers everywhere. It was created in 1994 by Kevin Lyman. Vans Warped Tour will be coming to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis on July 24.

“[I’m] going for my boyfriend’s birthday, and I’m excited to see the bands that I love and spend time with the guy that I love,” said sophomore Maddie Martin.

Warped Tour, which is held at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, brings bands for everyone to enjoy.  Some popular bands that will be there include Allstar Weekend, Black Veil Brides, Bring Me the Horizon, Sleeping With Sirens, and Issues. The giant inflatable checklist will inform people where and when each band is playing.

“I do plan on going to Warped Tour, but one of my favorite bands, 3OH!3, won’t be there,  so I’m not really happy about that,” said junior Chancey Bloodworth.

The Vans Warp tour website contains a Warped Tour survival guide with many helpful tips and videos by people who have learned things from experience including what and what cannot be brought to the concert.

Some advice that Martin would give for first time goers would be “[Bring] sunscreen, eat before you go, bring at least $40, bring a [sealed] plastic bottle of water and refill it. Things are expensive. Head to the stages where your favorite bands will be playing early if you want to be in front.”

Besides watching bands, concert-goers can visit the slip and slide, meet the band area, or the vendors area.  Concert-goers can also donate their old cell phones, five canned food items, or $5 at the concert and jump the line. Proceeds go to the Feed Our Children NOW! Organization.

Doors for Vans Warped open at 11:00 a.m. and the show closes down by 9 p.m. Tickets are currently available online for $35.00.
