Vikettes, Steppers Combine for Pep Rally Performance
Homecoming is near and the Vikettes and Steppers have merged together to perform at the pep rally on Sept. 24. Both teams will be learning a piece from each other and performing it in front of the whole school.
“I feel that the Vikettes and the Steppers will be a big success because we all are excited for it,” said senior Shavone Ferguson.
The idea has come up once before but the teams have never gone through with it. A lot of the people on the squads feel that the collaboration between the two will help to show how close the school is becoming.
“It’s really going to promote school unity because it’s two opposite groups coming together to form this awesome performance that’s never been done before,” said senior Vikette Laura Schechter.
Since this has never happened before it will be a big surprise for the students of Parkway. The performance is a great opportunity to show how two totally different dance/ step groups can come together so well.
“It’s making us appreciate what each group does because it’s way harder than you would think it would be for both ends,” said Schechter.
Although the performance will be interesting to the crowd, it will be hard work for the squads and will take a lot of practice to make it look good.
“To be honest, I don’t think that we will face many challenges but I will say that putting the routine together is quite some work,” said Ferguson.
