PNH Student Council Expands Members, Plans Events
Student Council is working to increase their members and plan events with the addition of new executive positions for each grade beginning in the 2010-2011 school year. Student Council is an important club at Parkway North High School that brings leadership into our every day routine.
“We have recently opened up into having a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer for each grade, that was a big expansion for us,” said Student Council Advisor Bob McKitrick.
Having a secretary and treasurer is important because it lessens the work for president and vice president. It also opens each grade up to more positions and puts more leaders in places they need to be.
“Our student council this year is really good. We have gotten a lot done, and people who don’t normally step up and do things are coming out of their shell and opening up to work with people,” McKitrick said.
This year, Student Council participated in Homecoming and will host Special Olympics on April 13. They also worked with other groups to create Battle of the Bands.
Student Council has good numbers this year, but it is always looking to expand more and become more involved in students’ lives.
