Parkway North Orchestra Performs at Fall Concert

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the Parkway North Orchestra had their annual Fall concert.  It was their first official concert even though the Symphonic Orchestra played two songs with the Parkway North Choir at their Fall concert.
“I think overall it went really well.  We didn’t have a lot of time to prepare because of masterworks, but I think it was good,” said junior Alexis Eachret.
The Symphonic Orchestra played three pieces: The second and third movements from Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto Sinfonica, Sinfoniain D by Felix Mendelssohn, and Rigaudon from the Holberg Suite by Edvard Grieg.
“I really enjoyed playing the Holberg Suite because Stephanie Mazzoni was fantastic, and Andrew Stock was so confident when he played his solo. Both are great soloists,” said junior Sharon Han.
Sophomore Violist Andrew Stock is not only a member of the Parkway North Symphony Orchestra, but he is also a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.
“Andrew is a great musician. I’m very glad that he is a member of the orchestra,” said Eachret.
The 8th grade Parkway Northeast Orchestra joined the Parkway North Orchestra at the concert on Tuesday.
“The 8th graders sounded good. I look forward for them to be coming up here next year.  I think they’ll make a great addition to our orchestra,” said Han.
The next Parkway North Symphonic Orchestra concert will be held in the beginning of December.
