North vs. Webster for Spot in Playoffs
On Friday, Oct. 28 Parkway North football team will battle Webster Groves for a spot in the playoffs.
Last year, Parkway North football facedWebster Grovesthe last game before the playoffs; however, due to the devastating loss against Chaminade, Parkway North had to beatWebster Grovesby 6 points to get the playoff spot. North put up a fight, but ended up losing and not progressing to the playoffs.
“Last year was disappointing because it was senior night and we ended our season with a loss. It would be sad if we lost again this year,” said senior Chandler Truelove.
North football is determined not to have a repeat of last year and has been preparing to win.Webster Grovessuffered their first regular season loss in nearly three years on Oct. 21 when Parkway Central defeated them 34-13. North is hoping to follow in Central’s footsteps.
“The game means a lot since they beat us the last two years. Coach is definitely getting us ready for it. To get prepared we watched a lot of tapes from the games last year and this year. We studied the tactics that Central used to beat them so we can too,” said junior football player Rodrick Hoskins.
Although Webster is a difficult opponent to defeat, North has faith in their abilities and are ready to play.
“Anything is possible with the right amount of preparation and determination,” said senior football player Hamza Tahir.
The Vikings are ready to play Webster and are determined to advance to the playoffs.
