History Club Plans Upcoming Events

             The History Club is having its first meeting of the year on Friday, Sept. 17 after school from three to four after school in Joni Patton’s room, where they will discuss the new field trip, possible guest speakers, t-shirt ideas, and fundraising.
             The club started two years ago and is relatively small, but is looking to recruit new members.
             “I started the club because I love history and [there was not] anything in the history department that promoted the study of history and developed the love of it,” said Patton, sponsor of the History Club.
             The club has events that include watching movies, having discussions, and playing different games about history and historical trivia.
            “I am looking forward to getting new people involved and taking a field trip this year,” said senior Rachel Bladow.
             At the meeting this Friday club members will discuss this year’s new field trip, possible guest speakers, t-shirt ideas, and fundraising.
             “It’s a club that’s in the making,” said Bladow, “We’ve only had a few members in the past and we really want to recruit some people that are excited about history to come join.”
             For all students unsure about attending the meeting, Bladow assures that there will be food and it will be a fun and worthwhile experience.
