Cheerleaders Host Prom Giveaway

From April 3 until April 10 during lunch, any junior or senior interested in winning a certificate for hairstyle and manicure, or $100 certificate towards tuxedo rental and flowers, or four hour limo service on prom night can enter a drawing hosted by the cheerleaders and their parents.

The idea came up when the cheerleaders were talking about ways to raise money for uniforms and other items that they needed.

“[The prom giveaway] is a fundraiser for the cheerleaders to raise money to get uniforms and other various things they need,” said parent volunteer Peggy Benten.

Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six.  The drawing will take place on April 11 and will be announced during announcements.  Three students will win one of each of the three prizes.

“[The purpose of the giveaway is] to support cheerleading,” said senior Kiara Adderley.

To enter, a student can find the table during lunch, located near the window facing the teacher parking lot, and write their name and academic lab on a card. Any student who enters gets candy for paying for the ticket.  Any junior or senior interested is welcome to enter the drawing.
